Part of the region: eggbox supports the 800th anniversary of the town of Wittenburg
From 4 to 12 July 2026, the town of Wittenburg became a festive gathering point for the entire region on the occasion of its 800th anniversary. As a company firmly rooted in Northern Germany, a long-standing partner and a local employer, we actively supported this historic event.
The Wittenburg anniversary colouring book
The youngest citizens of the town were particularly delighted with our involvement: eggbox sponsored the official anniversary colouring book, which was specially designed for the 800th anniversary. On 29 May 2026, just in time for the upcoming International Children’s Day, the book was presented to local nurseries across the Amt Wittenburg district by Mayor Christian Greger. Featuring child-friendly templates, it includes various local landmarks to colour in. In this playful and creative way, we are helping to pass on the region’s rich history to the children – a small keepsake of this special week of celebrations.
A look back at the anniversary week
The nine-day festival week attracted numerous visitors from all over Northern Germany. A diverse programme, the strong commitment of local initiatives, businesses and associations as well as the final parade made the celebrations a full success. As an integral part of Wittenburg’s economy, we look back on this successful anniversary with pride and thank all organisers for their smooth and professional cooperation.
Responsibility at the production site
For us, the production of our eggboxes is inseparably linked to the region where we have now been firmly established for 16 years. A stable and vital environment at our location ensures the long-term quality of our work and strengthens social cohesion.
Here’s to the next 800 years of Wittenburg!
